Clean Your Printer and Scanner

Keeping your printer clean helps ensure everything your print looks great. These steps will show you how to clean the platen glass and inside of the document cover.

Open the Document Cover

First, lift the document cover open. 

Clean the Platen Glass

Wipe the platen glass with a clean, white, lint-free cloth moistened with water. 

Clean the Inside of the Document Cover

Clean the inner side of the document cover with a clean, white, lint-free cloth moistened with water.

Clean the Transparent Sheet

Clean the transparent sheet with a clean, white, lint-free cloth moistened with water.

Clean the Inside of the Document Feeder

Clean the inner side of the document feeder with a clean, white, lint-free cloth moistened with water.

Dry Using a Clean, Dry Cloth

Wipe those same components dry with another a clean, white, lint-free cloth.
